Realizing the Vision
2022 is off to a great start for Grubb Properties and the Glen Lennox community. New neighbors are moving in, and the next phase of development is underway. Let’s dive into what the future looks like for Glen Lennox.
Link Apartments® Calyx
Grubb Properties continues to work closely with the Town of Chapel Hill in the ongoing development of Glen Lennox, including our next residential property, Link Apartments® Calyx. The multi-phase project will first result in an apartment building that complements the style established by our redevelopment projects thus far. Construction is underway with the first building, slated to be completed in the summer of 2023.
The second phase of Link Apartments® Calyx is expected to open the following summer in 2024. This third Link Apartments® building will also be developed closely with the Town of Chapel Hill and will embrace the amenities and character of the Glen Lennox community.
It Takes a Village
We are laying the groundwork for a new retail district at the heart of our community. Our team envisions a sweeping common space, scenically placed amongst trees, flowers and pedestrian-friendly storefronts that can accommodate outdoor dining. The retail district will also be accessible via bicycle with plenty of bike lanes.
Our next office building will open into that common space. This new development will be slightly larger than the Gwendolyn at 120,000 square feet and will feature 25,000 square feet of ground-floor retail that is earmarked for a market or food-hall type user. We hope to break ground in January of 2023 and open in summer 2024. We look forward to all the new neighbors and energy this will bring to the community!
Better Connection and Mobility
A connection of Berkley and Lanark Roads is underway to establish a clear street grid. The project will create a road from the intersection of Berkley and Hamilton Roads to the intersection of Lanark and Maxwell Roads. This will serve as the divider between Glen Lennox North and the retail district easing navigation around the community. These changes will integrate traffic calming measures that will establish safer traffic flow within the neighborhood.
Commuters will soon have a new bike shelter at Frasier Park in March. We will also be making Glen Lennox more cyclist-friendly with more bicycle stands and a bikeable connection to Meadowmont from our greenway.
No Place Like Home
We are moving … to Glen Lennox! Our apartment leasing office will have a new home at 140 Hamilton Road, nestled within our beautiful apartment neighborhood. Stop in for a visit once the move is complete.
